There are endless ways to workout for free!
Workouts you can do alone outside
Here are a few outside workouts with the average calories burned per hour (for a person that weighs 150lbs). If you weight more than 150lbs you will burn more calories, if you weigh less than 150lbs you will burn less calories.
Walking- 250 calories per hour. This is a perfect way to get a sweat in on a warm Sunday when you have extra time to spare.
Biking- 300 calories per hour. If you don’t already have a bike, try asking a neighbor to use theirs or find a bike on facebook marketplace! There are often free bikes on there!
Swimming- 660 calories per hour. If you live near a body of water or are lucky enough to own a pool this is a perfect summer workout. By being in the water you don’t even realize how much work you’re doing because you are refreshed from the water.
Running- 700 calories per hour. Of course, running is the most dreaded workout, but it is efficient in burning a bunch of calories!
Workouts outside with others
Grab a friend and play 1 v 1 in tennis, basketball, or get a group and play a game like volleyball or soccer. These types of sports are a great way to get a sweat in while still being social. A quick google search should help you find a free park with some of these sports available for the public.
Inside workouts
My favorite workout to do inside is putting a youtube workout on the tv. There are a million free options with no equipment needed. They have a million choices! If you’re looking for a slow vibe, check out yoga. if you’re looking for something fast paced, maybe Zumba or a HIIT class! This is also a great way to learn more about fitness with someone demonstrating every move.
